Stars & Scars:
Ben came in yesterday for a sketchy nautical star. This was fun to do and he's got plans for more!
Gabriella stopped me on the street a few months ago. She needed a scar covered up and actually had a magazine on her w/ the design she liked. I redesigned the piece to fit better on her stomach and to flow nicely with her shape.
Normally, I don't work on scar tissue because it can irritate the tissue and make it worse or the tissue may reject the ink entirely. Gabriella's scar was very, very well healed and could be covered up fairly easily. Once all was said and done, it seemed like the stretch mark scars were actually crankier about the whole tattoo process than the darker, horizontal scar.
I've included pictures with the stencil on, so you can see where we placed the piece over the scar and there are a lot of after pictures to show how well it is now covered and the swelling of Gabriella's stomach. We will have a final session in couple of weeks and I'll take some healed pictures of this side then, so you can see the final product without the swelling.
