Hello again, Faithful Blog-Readers!
As some of you may know, I have been waiting to find out when/if I will be having surgery. Well, I DO have to have it. The surgery is due to a couple of herniated discs in my neck which need to be removed. After meeting w/ the neurosurgeon this week, I now have the surgery date and a projected recovery time.
The surgery will be October 7th. The recovery time is expected to be 6 weeks. During this time, I will not be able to tattoo since I will be in a neck brace and going to physical therapy. If this was foot surgery or something, I'm sure I'd break the rules a bit and come back to work sooner - however, my neck is a pretty vital piece of equipment for both life in general and (more importantly?) tattooing.
Of course, I doubt that I will be able to stay out of the actual tattoo shop for 6 weeks and plan to use this time to take custom work requests and get some drawing done so once I'm healed and ready to tattoo again we all have appointments waiting for us. When I begin going into the shop again, I will make a post and allow the flood gates on custom work open.
If you have an appointment scheduled in October or November we have a couple options: 1) move it to before the surgery or 2) wait until December. You'll be hearing from me directly if I have to reschedule your appointment.
Until then, feel free to email me w/ your ideas and desires about your upcoming tattoo projects. I am guessing - if all surgical business goes as planned - I will resume tattooing in December.
I'll keep you all updated, as always. Thanks for understanding!
