Hollywood actor Daniel Craig who became well known internationally after he was cast as the sixth actor to portray fictional secret agent ‘James Bond’ in the film series has decided to move on from Bond and has signed lead role in a new thriller franchise.
The British actor has been roped in to star in the flick based on late Swedish author Stieg Larsson's hugely popular Millennium Trilogy, ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’, ‘The Girl Who Played with Fire’ and ‘The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest’.
The actor decided to move on after his third 007 movie got delayed due to ongoing financial troubles and did not hit the floors. The movie was slated to release in 2011-2012. The 23rd on hold indefinitely.
The 42-year-old actor will portray the role of journalist ‘Mikael Blomkvist’ in the upcoming movie version of ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ to be directed by David Fincher and is scheduled to hit the screens in 2011.
